*****TREND ALERT – We’re In Knots*****

It was Burberry who got us hooked. There was barely a piece that went down their spring summer 2010 catwalk that didn’t have some kind of knot detail on it. We’ve all seen their amazing knot-front skirt in the gorgeous pastel colours in almost every fashion magazine of late, but the trend ran through dresses, blouses, even skinny trousers too. Other designers followed suit for this season; DKNY had a few irresistible dresses with gentle side knot detailing, Gianfranco Ferre opted for knots in some of the more glitzy evening frocks and Lanvin, with their usual draped elegance, showed some tied gorgeousness. But why, you may ask, is this trend so wearable? Well, as with draping, a big knot on a dress or skirt takes the attention away from, how do we put this… the more ‘unwanted’ focus areas. If you’ve got a problem tummy, add a knot. What’s more, we think that anything similar to this trend adds a touch of romance to your outfit. It’s time to ‘tie up’ some loose ends ladies.
