London Hat Week

This week is the 4th ever London Hat Week, celebrating the past, present and future of hats through a numerous amount of events. From workshops on ‘How to make a lace headpiece’ to ‘An evening of Royal Millinery’, there is something for everyone.

The week runs from the 22nd of March to the 28th of March so be sure not to miss out on the last few events coming up. The week has a practical and industry based focus, especially for the workshop sessions, but the talks and other events are approachable for all.

We’ve chosen a few of our favourite events coming up in the next couple of days, so make sure you get booking and get making!

1. Petershams Millinery Supplies’  Trunk Show Extravaganza: March 26,  10am – 4.30pm (Admission Free) 

Want to get your hands of some lovely headgear? Head down to Creekside in Greenwich to have access to this sample sale. Petershams Millinery Supplies’ specialises in ‘vintage hat making goods’ and hats with a ‘vintage flare‘.

2.  An evening of Royal Millinery: March 26, 7.30pm – 10pm (£15)

This event is an evening hosted by some of London’s top millinery experts. The Royal Wedding theme is in aid Brain Tumour Research and will allow avid hat enthusiasts to ask questions to an industry panel.

Held in the Archer Street Cocktail Bar in Soho, this is a chic evening of unmissable entertainment.

3. How to manipulate feathers and quills to make a headpiece: March 26, 10am – 4pm (£225)

This workshop will be hosted by expert Jane Taylor in her millinery studios.

Jane will demonstrate, support and give advice on how to make compositions using different feathers as well as using individual feathers and quills. This is a fantastic opportunity for participants to learn and create a stunning headpiece to finish off perfectly and personally an outfit for a special occasion.’
