LCM: The highlights

This week was the week that ‘London Collections: Men’ returned to the capital for its twice yearly fashion showcase. The SS17 collections were promoted through 35 catwalk shows, 25 presentations and 55 designer showrooms. Four new designer groups joined the event this year including MCM and Maison Mihara Yasuhiro.

LCM lasted 4 days and the collections varied immensely from sharp tailoring to futuristic sportswear.

Here are our highlights from each day.

Day 1

Bobby Abley – after launching his label in 2012,  Abley has become a breakthrough designer in menswear fashion. Known for his playful and adventurous approach to design, his SS17 collection captures his artistic direction with childhood and cartoon inspired clothing.

Day 2

MCM X Christopher Raeburn – the German luxury brand MCM  collaborated with Raeburn to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The collection is based around the idea of reconstruction and high tech approaches – something Raeburn is noticed for in the fashion world. We love the highlighted brightness of some of the clothing and accessories.

Day 3

J.W. Anderson –  The Northern Irish designer first set up his label in 2008, but has only recently become a household name and is now regarded as one of London’s most talented and innovative brands. This SS17 collection, like lots of his previous ones, combines typically masculine and feminine design features into a completely new design perspective.

Day 4

Coach – this designer label was previously seen as a sinking brand but this SS17 collection definitely proved otherwise. Not only did every guest to the Coach catwalk get a mini dinosaur, but the actual clothing and collection had such a strong colour palette. A huge highlight this LCM.
