High Streets signs up to Vogue Shopping Event
A raft of high street retailers and fashion brands are to take part in a shopping extravaganza organised by fashion glossy Vogue in an attempt to drive footfall and turn shoppers back on to fashion. The best high street stores across 13 capital cities, including more than 125 shops along London’s Oxford Street, Bond Street and Regent Street, will host a ?shopping night out? on September 10. Champagne, discounts and free style advice will be offered in stores in the world’s most important fashion cities such as Paris, Mumbai, Beijing and Moscow. Brands including Agent Provocateur, Alexander McQueen, Tommy Hilfiger and Topshop have all signed up to Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out event. Britain’s best young talent will take over London independent Browns with Giles Deacon DJ-ing, Richard Nicol working in the fitting rooms and Roksanda Ilincic wrapping purchases. Rupert Sanderson will ask its customers to contribute to a giant drawing on the floor in Berkeley Square. The paint-by-numbers artwork will then be photographed by satellite the next morning. Tickets to London Fashion Week in September will also be up for grabs in a prize draw at Burberry where creative director Christopher Bailey will be dispensing style advice to customers.
