Emanuel Ungaro Speaks Out against the Lindsay Lohan/Ungaro Collaberation

It appears that during a public meeting at the International Film Festival in Estoril, near Lisbon this week, Emanuel Ungaro spoke out against Lindsay Lohan’s first collection as artistic advisor with Ungaro . He expressed his feelings that it was an absolute “disaster” and he is “furious but I can’t do anything about it.” Lindsay was named official muse for Ungaro alongside Spanish designer Estrella Archs and the collection for Spring/Summer 2010, which showed in Paris in October was utterly panned by critics. The founding designer for Ungaro cut ties with the fashion house in 2005 and stressed that he no longer has any contact with them, stating he regrets the fact that Ungaro, which now belongs to an American investment company, “is in the process of losing it’s soul”. Emanuel closed his comments by saying “That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls.” Pictures c/o Ungaro website
