This week, the 2016 critics’ choice awards took place – one of many star studded events that run leading up to The Oscars. The evening celebrates the finest achievements in the cinematic world in the past 12 months – winners this year include La La Land and Natalie Portman. Like any event of this nature, the costumes are not solely confined to the film or television series produced – they continue onto the red carpet itself.
Below are some of the key looks of the night:
Emma Stone in Roland Mouret. Both Emma Stone and Nicole Kidman opted for the classic LBD. Emma’s features a metallic top section whereas Nicole’s sports an alternative off the shoulder look.
Allison Williams in Balmain. This sequinned gown is certainly a bold choice for the event. We love the colour scheme and intertwined geometric shapes.
Greta Gerwig in Gucci. The festive red and black lace trim gives the dress a waterfall tiered effect on the skirt section.
Hailee Steinfeld by Jason Wu. Hailee opted for an ‘ on trend’ choice for the night – the delicate floral pattern is a very popular design feature this season.
Janelle Monae looks absolutely stunning in this sixties inspired gown. We love the use of the monochrome pattern contrasted with the feminine cut of the garment.
Lily Collins in Elie Saab. This heavily embellished dress is perhaps less of a bold choice for the red carpet but the entire look is just beautiful. From the darker shade of lipstick to the delicate nature of the dress – this is one of our favourites from the night.
