Best Dressed at the Oscars

This week the Oscars gave us some gorgeous red carpet looks. The Oscars, like the Golden Globes and the Met Gala, is a much anticipated event in both the fashion and film calendar. This year, although the red carpet saw colour and sequins dominating the evening there was a  strong political undertone. Unlike other recent red carpet events, although guests and award winners were wearing colours other than black, there was support for the Time’s Up movement through the use of subtle political pins and badges.

The awards went to Frances McDormand for ‘Actress in a Leading Role’, Gary Oldman for ‘Actor in a Leading Role’ and Blade Runner for the best Cinematography, to name a few.

Here’s a few of our favourite looks from the evening.

Emily Blunt in a soft sheer and lace Schiaparelli creation.

Jennifer Lawrence wore this gorgeous sequinned gown in Christian Dior.

Meyrl Streep wore a bight red dress by Christian Dior.

Nicole Kidman wore this royal blue scuplted dress by Armani Privé.

Gina Rodriguez wore a nude pink embellished low cut dress by Zuhair Murad.

In keeping with the ‘Time’s Up’ movement of wearing black to Hollywood events, St Vincent wore Saint Laurent.

Molly Sims wore this silver embellished dress by Naeem Khan.
