Be Bang on Trend this Autumn

We know summer is only just with us, and we’ve only just got over the sales, but it’s that time of year again when you need to think about updating your wardrobe for the new season. We’re not sure about you, but all at HF HQ have wish lists as long as their arms for this autumn winter already. We’ve scouted the ‘new in’ sections of all the websites, we’ve even had sneak peeks at new collections for some shops, so we think it’s time to just give you all a mini-trend breakdown for the coming season. For all you fashionistas, here you go…

Fur – whether it’s blue, white, jacket or accessories, it is THE fabric for the colder months. Obviously we only do faux fur for fun factor (bit of alliteration there!), and there will be plenty on the high street as well as designer. Chanel used it so well in boots, skirts and jackets. Velvet – it’s time to channel all things Gothic and go all Morticia Addams. Try and stick to deep colours – black, deep red even purple. Look to Fendi, Pringle and Armani for inspiration. Shearling – the only thing to keep you warm in the cold, and the only thing to look uber-fashionable in. Burberry’s collection of flying jackets are simply irresistible, and we know for a fact the high street will have their own versions, stay tuned!

Digital – this seems to be multi-seasonal, but for autumn winter it’s all about darker tones. More subtle, but still a statement. Head to Erdem (especially the full length printed numbers) and Dries Van Noten. Leopard – Bet Lynch makes a welcome return to our wardrobes with this animal favourite. Can you pull off head to toe leopard? We’d love to. We heart Moschino’s jackets. Tribal – one of our favourite trends, and one of the most wearable prints. ASOS did some fabulous African prints, and Jean Paul Gaultier embraced it in the clothes as well as the general styling of his show.

Urban warrior – the tougher the look the better. Head-to-toe black, sharp lines and makeup to match. Gareth Pugh does this look better than anyone of the catwalk. Check it out! Glamour Goddess – take a leaf from Victoria Beckham’s book (or maybe even Joan Collins) and don’t step out the house without a posh frock on. Impractical? No way! Marchesa gowns and Elie Saab dresses are utterly gorgeous. 60s – yes, another revival, but this time it’s so chic! Cute shift dresses and bright colours galore make this one of the most fun trends of the season. Giles ticks every box with his collection, even the hair is spot on!
